How to read your test results

MedLabUSA :: Cardiac Profiles :: Heart Disease & Stroke Risk Profile

Heart Disease & Stroke Risk Profile #16372
Heart Disease & Stroke Risk Profile  Includes fibrinogen activity, which is involved in clot formation. If this number is elevated, there is an elevated risk of clot formation, and therefore, increased predisposition to heart attacks and strokes. Includes Cardiac C-reactive protein, which has been associated with increased risk for heart disease if elevated. Includes lipoprotein A which is a much more sensitive and specific lipid test. This test is especially useful in patients with a strong family history of premature coronary disease, or in patients that have already had bypass surgery or angioplasty (as a monitoring test). Please fast for 8 hours prior to this test.
